    Mission: The primary mission of the St. Mary’s Eucharistic Ministers is to assist the priest at Mass in distributing the Body and Blood of Christ to the faithful in Holy onally, many Eucharistic Ministers also bring Communion to the sick and homebound. All Eucharistic Ministers are further authorized to assist with the distribution of ashes and the blessing of throats. Those who are receiving the Eucharist in their homes or health care settings are being healed and strengthened spiritually and experience being a part of the community of St. Gregory the Great. A sacred bond of unity occurs because of these special personal visits from Our Lord carried by our parish Eucharistic Ministers.

    The Eucharist is the Sacred Sacrament, which for Catholics and other Christian denominations becomes the body and blood of Christ with a priest's consecration of communion wafers and wine. While Eucharistic ministers are not ordained, their roles carry spiritual value. Dear Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist, It is with great pleasure that I present to you the new Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist Handbook.
